I had tried marriage for all the wrong reasons but had taken Ellen Owen (Hurd) out when home for a wound recovery.Took her to the movie Patton now you know why she did not talk to me for 30 years. We got married on Dec 20th 2008 and for the first time am at piece with the world.
Updated 21-Nov-2009. Where to start? The short version.... I 've spent most of the past few decades as an architect, mostly with the State Dept. My husband Paul and I traveled or lived overseas from the late 1970s into the 1990s. We moved to Morro Bay in 1994; he passed away in 2000 after 25 good years together. I subsequently went back to graduate school (Univ of Texas Southwestern Medical) to become a clinical psychologist and am current on staff at Atascadero State Hospital. I currently live in Morro Bay, CA, though family members are mostly in Oregon and Washington, which makes me a frequent visitor to the Pacific Northwest. It has been wonderful to reconnect with friends and classmates in the past few years.

Updated 24-Oct-2008. I retired in 2004 after 32 years teaching in the Santee School District. I taught 8th grade English and U.S. History for over twenty years before moving on to a vice principalship in 1995. In 1998 I made the decision that I wanted to retire sometime between 2003 and 2005 and that I wanted to spend my last years in education in the classroom with students rather than be in the office handling discipline and suspensions. From 1998 until retirement I taught 4th, 5th and 6th grades. Now that I am retired I am spending my time traveling, reading, and watching the Padres and the Chargers!
