Have lived in Fremont since 1980 (house is finally
paid off - YEAH!)

of a hodge-podge of stuff, but mostly website design,
technology consulting and some freelance writing. A
number of my clients are really small businesses who
can't afford (or don't need) a full time IT person,
so I am just their virtual IT department and am on
call when they need me. It's great fun, and I try not
to work too hard.

What's New?
Went to Foothill for a year, then to UCSD for my
BA and MS in Applied Physics.
Worked as an engineer in the defense industry
with lasers and electro-optics for most of the time
since. Spent a couple years as a computer game
designer in the mid-90's. Now back to engineering at
Lockheed.
Married to Judy Pauli (Los Altos, '74) since
May '84. Two girls, Caitlin (17) and
Haley (14), both at Homestead HS. Judy teaches
music. The girls are stellar students.
My primary hobby is Irish dancing. I discovered
this subculture after Riverdance. I compete at
local "feisanna" and have done pretty well at it.

What's New?
As of 2004, I'm still here in the old neighborhood,
living in Los Altos behind (the newly rebuilt) Blach
Junior High. I'm married to Debbie Lidgate, also
from our class of '75, and we have two wonderful
boys, Kenneth & Andrew.

I've worked for Hewlett-Packard since 1981 and have
somehow survived the multitude of layoffs since our
merger with Compaq. Debbie has recently used her
years of Pharmaceutical Industry experience to set up
her own business as a Medical Writer, after leaving
Roche in 2001.

But our real job, is still raising the kids!

What's New?
Hello, everyone! Hope you are planning to go to the
25th reunion in June! Hope to see you there.

On May 18th, after appointment by Gov. George W. Bush,
I was installed as the new President of the Texas
Board of Chiropractic Examiners for an undefined
term. I look forward to the honor of serving and hope
to make a difference in terms of chiropractic practice
and the protection of the public, but also within the
profession itself. Hmmm....we'll see.

What's New?
Hi Everyone,

It's been a long time since I last updated this, so
let's see if I can get you caught up with what I'm
doing, or have done. I have now been teaching for 5
years. This is my third year at Johnson Elementary
school. In those 5 years I've taught 4th, 5th and
currently I'm teaching 3rd grade.I am really enjoying
working as a teacher because you really can leave a
positive impression on the hearts and minds of young
people. I have a very supportive staff and principal
who are always there with a helping hand or kind word.

When I'm not at school I work part-time at the
McCallum Theater as an usher captain. This my second
season working. We have all types of entertainment
that come through the theater. It's a lot of fun, and
it's a nice diversion from my regular school day.
During the height of the season I work about 7 to 8
shows a month. I've seen all sorts of celebrities, so
it's kind of cool.

This summer I'm planning to teach summer school.
My sons Sean and Michael are flying in from Texas to
spend a few weeks this summer with me. I always enjoy
spending time with them because I really don't get to
see them all that much.I miss sharing in their
growing up,so the time that I do have with them is
very special.Sean will be a senior in high school
next year, and Michael will be in 8th grade. They do
grow up fast!

Later in the summer I will be traveling to Las
Cruces, New Mexico where we stay with friends and
just unwind before school starts up again. Las Cruces
is also where I got my bachelor's degree at New
Mexico State Unversity.

When I'm not so busy with teaching I enjoy
Renaissance faires, going to the beach, hiking, wine
tasting, going out for sushi, working out at the gym
(I'm a spinner!),going to the movies, reading a good
book, and traveling here and there. I've enjoyed
these things along with my significant other, Sharon.
We have been together for about 3 years. Perhaps we
will get married one day, but right now we are
comfortable with our present situation.

It would be great to hear from you and see what you
are up to. I know that all our lives are busy and
hectic, but I for one like rekindling old
friendships, and even making some new friends, so
keep it in mind. Let me know what's happening in your
neck of the woods. Take care to one and all.

Graduated from UC Davis in 1979 w/ BA in Biology started
work for GE as a Science Specialist at NASA Ames Research
Center (ARC).

Worked on Space Shuttle payloads of various missions
including Space Lab 3 and Space Lab Japan (SL-J).
Completed my MBA in Managment 1985. Hired by NASA
ARC in 1989 currently a Deputy Division Chief, NASA Space
Science Division.

Divorced 1996 and remarried in 2000 to my lovely wife Jane
Hackl (Now Famous one Jane Fonda) 5 children, Tim Hackl
25, Caren Hackl 23, Stephanie Hackl 21, Nick Fonda 18 and
Marilyn Fonda 15. Nick and Marilyn attend Piedmont Hills
High in San Jose. Nick will graduate June 05.

My parents still live on Nilda, Jane and I have one Grand
Baby named Zane which makes us both Grandparents.

Hi:
After Awalt I was a sidetracked for many years at
dead-end jobs. I finally got it together though & went
back to school & got my degree. I am currently working
in a school Law Library. As a former backlawner & heavy
party animal this is about the last spot I would have
imagined I would end up in. But it's a good steady job
with lots of nice folks...
I love my wife and have been married now about 10 years
-it's great!
I am currently taking Cisco classes at Gavilon so I can
get ahead...

What's New?
After we graduated from Awalt I went to Foothill JC
to play soccer. Lived in Morgan Hill, Sunnyvale and
Mountain View, I blew my knee out in 1976 and went to
work in restaurant business from 1976 to 1978.
Moved to San Luis
Obispo in 1979 and worked at the San Luis Bay Inn,
Avila Beach as a Cook. Went to the Golden Tee in
Morro Bay, CA 1981 as the Executive Chef (fancy name
for a cook). Got married to my beautiful wife Kim in
May 1983. Went to work for the California Department
of Corrections in November 1983 as a Cook at the
California Men's Colony in San luis Obispo. Never
thought I'd work at a Prison, I always figured I'd
live in one as a "guest".
We have two kids. A son Morgan Jarrod, who will turn
20 in January - 6'6", 250 pounds (takes after Kim's
side of the family). Daughter Kayla Shealyn turns 16
in January, Sophomore in High School starts as Wing
on the Girl's Varsity Basketball team (*Yeah she's
taller than me too). Both good kids,
but got the smart ass gene from Dad.
Since I went to work for CDC I have opened three new
prisons. One in beautiful Blythe 1989, one in Wasco
1990 and Opened Salinas Valley State Prison in 1996
as the Warden's Assistant and Public Information
Officer. Did that for three years and now I work "On
the line" as a CCI. CDC has been pretty good to me,
Still got all my teeth and most of my hair. With any
luck I hope to retire in one piece when I reach
55.

What's New?
Have two great kids, Alyce (13) and Erik (11). Own
Patt's Greenhouse on State Street in Downtown Los
Altos, a plant and gift store. When not consumed
running a retail store we are busy supporting and
attending kid's activities. Alyce plays ASA fastpitch
softball (husband Ted coaches)and Erik plays whatever
happens to be in season and is active in the Boy
Scouts. I also belong to the Los Altos Art Docents, a
group of volunteers who teach art in the 6 elementary
schools in the district.

I am on the Class of 75 Reunion Committee and we are
in the process of planning a GREAT reunion scheduled

What's New?
I was Santa Cruz bound 4 days after I graduated. The
Santa Cruz area is getting more and more congested
everyday, but is still one of the most beautiful
places around to live in. Mountains to hike in on one
side, and an ocean to swim in on the other.
I have not done much in the way of expanding my
academic experience. I continue to take classes at
Cabrillo Junior college just to keep my brain active.
I have worked more years than I'd like to admit to for
the same company, O'Neill Inc.. It is a part of Santa
Cruz history and if you do any kind of water sports,
you'll recognize the brand name.
I am a single mom to a 12 year old son. I own a small
piece of California real estate in Aptos, a few blocks
from the beach. I currently am in a good relationship
with a friend that I reconnected with from my teen
years. Mark has inspired me to get on the slopes in
winter, and my son to compete in tennis tournaments.
I lead an active life but work hard on keeping stress
to a minimum, and the pace relaxed.
I hope everyone is healthy and happy. Life is short,
we are middle age now...and these really are the best
years of our lives!!!

Still in Bountiful, Utah - enjoying the mountains.
This summer was spent river rafting and enjoying the
sites of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park.
Phil and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary next
year. Our boys are now 17 and 20. Jack is a Junior in
Electrical Engineering and James is enjoying the great
days of High School. I am teaching second grade. Life
is very good!

I have lived in Davis since graduating from UC Davis in
1980. I have been working at the UCD Veterinary
Hospital in the Clinical Labs since 1982. I married my
college teacher (what the heck, I got an A) and we have
two boys 16 and 12. Life seems to be all about the boys
and their sports these days. I sure have learned a lot
about sports since marriage!
I still get together with Elena Jensen and Christine
Chester, but we try not to get into as much trouble as

Okay, let's see here... I have MA in Archaeology and
have worked as a professional archaeologist since
1980. Currently I am an Associate State Archaeologist
for California State Parks, and my District extends
from the Pajaro River north to San Francisco, eastward
to Mount Diablo. I am also an adjunct professor at De
Anza College, Ohlone College, Cabrillo College, Santa
Clara University and the University of California at
Santa Cruz where I teach evening classes on California
archaeology and/or California Indian culture. My
specialty is Native American cultures and early
Spanish Colonial Period history. I have spent a lot
of time with many different Native American
communities and am proud to have experienced the
things that I have (not bad for a Dutch boy from
Mountain View)...oh, and I have a wonderful 10 year-
old son and we live in Sunnyvale.

A lot has happened since the good old days of Awalt
High School. Currently, I am living in Camas
Washington. Been living in the Northwest for about 2
years. I’ve been employed with Hewlett-Packard going
on 22 years now. I have a lovely wife who has put up
with my love of flying and my passion for building an
airplane (Van’s RV-8 kitplane. To be flying fall of
2000.) And, two and a half years ago I was blessed
with the love of my life, my son Trevor Jay. Every day
we learn something new about the world, life and each
other.


Update: Son just turned 6 and the plane took to the
air on July 26,2003. Ok, my original estimate was
off by 3 years. Oh well, I never was good at project
management.

What's New?
I have been a registered nurse since 1979, working
in Labor and Delivery since the mid- 80's and I still
love it! I have 2 wonderful sons, Michael (27)and
Jacob (19). I have recently started cycling and I am
having a great time, there are so many beautiful places
to ride in California.
Thanks to Kerry Andrews and Carolyn McGuiness, I
have reconnected with Jim Frost/'73. Who knew that 35
years later we would fall in love- so glad we did! As
of August 12th we are officially engaged and are
planning a fall 2009 wedding! I have been blessed with
a fantastic fiance and 3 great "bonus" kids.

What's New?
Well lets see, after graduation I joined the NAVY
(Never Again Volunteer Yourself) and spent the next
four years traveling around the world. I finaly
setteled down with Kris in 1979 and landed a job
working for Lockheed. I have two grown boys; Matt who
has graduated from college and is married, and Kit who
has just graduated from Los Altos High. Lockheed was
kind enough to send me and the wole family including
the dog to the Marshall Islands(Kwajalein). We lived
there for three and a half years before returning back
to the states. We purchased a motorhome and have been
traveling around the country too many places to see
and so little time. We still live in Los Altos and
have a place at Lake Almanor (up north) and a place on
the Sacramento Delta out by Isleton. Can't wait to
retire.

What's New?
I have been teaching at the elementary school level
since 1980. I spent 4 years working in Lodi, Ca.
teaching Special Education. After getting married I
began teaching for the Los Altos School District.
After 13 years teaching Special Education, I now teach
3rd Grade at Bullis-Purissima School. By returning
to the area I have had the opportunity to teach the
children of some of our classmates. The BEST part of my
life is my husband, Ben, and our children, Keith (12)
and Sarah (9). I do volunteer fundraising for
non-profit children's programs and keep busy as a
leader with Boy Scouts and Brownies. Spare time (HA)
is spent walking, reading, traveling and driving to
tennis, ice-skating, and a variety of other activities.
I truly have a great life!

FIRST THE BASIC INFO:
A few months after graduation I went off to college and
finished one year before serving as a missionary for 2
years in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Two weeks after I
returned to the US in 1978 I started at the university
and there met Janet. We married in 1980 (and are still
happily married) while we were both full-time students.
I graduated from Brigham Young University in 1981 (BS,
Finance), and worked as department store chain
buyer/merchandiser, then got an MBA and worked as VP of
Marketing & Sales for an orthopedics mfgr. In 1988 I
started my own company (Vectorex Corp,
www.vectorex.com) and it's been going great ever since.
We have 5 children, ages 24 - 12.

We are very involved in church and love to travel when
we get a chance.

NOW THE NEW STUFF:
For our 25th anniversary in 2005 we took a 12-day
cruise to Alaska. Then in Nov 2005 we took the younger
kids with us on an 11-day cruise to several ports in
Mexico.

Our oldest daughter got married in June 2005 and they
live a few miles away from us. Our second oldest
daughter will graduate from nursing school June 2006.

What's New?
I have now permanently relocated to the NJ/NYC area.
My two great girls, Gracia and Kelleigh, are now 17
and 14 and are still living in Houston. They come
visit during school breaks, and have learned to like
Broadway shows, and to bargin very effectively in
NYC. Since my last entry, I have taken a once-in-a-
lifetime trip to China with my parents, getting to
learn more about my heritage. My parents moved back to
our old house in Mountain View a couple years ago, so
now when I visit, my walks around the old neighborhood
are filled with trying to recall who lived in which
houses, and wondering if I'd recognize someone from
school if I ran into them!

I have worked for Bechtel since 1980, and am presently
an engineering manager for the Telecommunications
branch in the Tri-State region.

May '05 Update: Hard to believe, but my oldest
daughter, Gracia, is graduating from HS next weekend,
and Kelleigh will be completing her freshman year.

I live on a small lake in Minnesota with my husband

Currently single and life is good. Post HS graduation
got BA in History/Political Science from Dominican
College (now university) in San Rafael. Worked 5+
years in early childhood ed then transitioned to high
tech industry. In 1990 got MA Organization Development
from USF. I've been working at NEC Electronics America
in product marketing since 1990. Spend down time with
friends and reading, cooking as well as new hobby
quilting. Attend church right across the street from
our old HS. 30 years since HS graduation - time flies
when you're having fun!

I moved to Boise, Idaho from Mountain View
CA. in 1984. I spent 20+ years in Idaho raising my two
children and now I am enjoying my career at Hewlett-
Packard which I hope leads me to retirement. I also
enjoy scuba diving and riding my harley.

My son, Davin graduated from Georgeton University
in Washington DC. He is currently an Officer and pilot
in the Army. He will be in Iraq 2008/2009.

My daughter, Jennifer is attending college in Nampa,
ID on a basketball scholorship.

Hi all,
I'm sorry I missed the reunion. Great to see the pix
of those who went!
I have been married to my husband, Jim, for 26 years.
We met at USC where I received a BA in cello
performance. We have lived in North Orange County and
have 2 children, Katie (17), Jimmy (15). I have kept
up my music as a part time career playing in symphony
orchestras, free-lance chamber music, movie/music
recording. It has been a great career, as I have also
been a stay at home mom and homeschooled my kids until
jr.hi. We are very involved in our church and that is
the focus of our family.
Best wishes to all my old friends.

What's New?
After high school I moved here there and everywhere.
We moved back to California in 1996 when my father had
Alzheimer's. Unfortunately, I ashamed to say, that we
are in Los Angeles. Not as nice as the Bay Area, but
close enough to regularly visit Mom in Mtn. View.
I've been happily married to Nick Wirtz ('72) for 30+
years. We have four children with no criminal
records, good teeth and nice hair. Currently I am
enjoying teaching kindergarten at a private Christian
school.

Life is interesting.
Married for 22 years to a great wife.
Five kids, three girls two boys - 20, 17, 15, 12, 10
Retire eight years ago to be a house dad after
working for KLA Instruments and then cisco Systems.
Had a heart attack 2/15/01 - long story but I'm still
here and kicking!
Bummed I will not be able to make the reunion in
August, but will be off on vacation.
Hope life is treating all of you well!

I still live in Cary, NC, just outside the state
capital Raleigh. My boy-girl twins turned eight years'
old last October. I’m a civil litigation and business
attorney, and teach law in the business school at
NCCU. In 2004, I became editor & investment partner of
a 60,000-circulation national monthly management
journal for independent restaurant owners. For
relaxation, I study Tae Kwon Do, at which I’m
currently ranked black belt, bo dan.

I travel to the West Coast about twice a year. Give me
a shout, particularly if you plan to be in the Tarheel
State.

Intel finally figured out that someone that doesn't
speak English can do my job better :)
Got "redeployed" (aka The Ax) almost a year ago.

Wasn't off long and got an offer from a company in
Reno called IGT - working as an SAP Basis Admin.
LOVE IT HERE! Trying to sell the house in CA, living
in an apartment until our big beautiful new home is
finished. No State Taxes...Lots of fun in Reno.
Never minded California, but Reno is great.

The girls are growing up, both in high school.
Husband is doing great too.

Thanks to Rory and Lindy for organizing the reunion.
It was nice to see people from the other classes -
good value.

The photos of the reunion were hilarious, with Lou
Clinton posing and Chris Crider guzzling a beer full
tilt. Some things never change.

Hi all -- After Awalt I went to Oregon State University
for a couple of years, but I ended up getting my BFA
(fine arts) degree from the University of Colorado at
Boulder. Now a graphic designer (at the same
company for 23 years), I am married and have 2
great boys, ages 13 and 10. My husband Steve
and I live in Louisville, Colorado. We make it back
to the Bay Area occasionally to see friends and

What's New?
Who would have thought that a graduate of AWALT would
be splitting atoms? I work for PG&E, thank you all for
your prompt monthly payments, at Diablo Canyon Nuclear
Power Plant, near San Luis Obispo. I am a Reactor
Operator, I actually do split atoms for a living. I
have been married, for 25 years, to the same woman and
we
have 2 children graduating from college this year.
It is hard to believe that it was 30 years ago.....

Living in Palo Alto for the past seventeen years.
Have a great wife and three kids in school - the
oldest just graduated from Paly and is off to Cal-Poly
in September. Involved in normal work and kid-related
activities like Little League, diving, soccer, etc.
