What's New?
Missed the last reunion. Married 21 years to a great
guy, Greg. Daughter a junior at the University of
Washington and son a freshman in high school (and I'm
still home schooling). Traveled through Bolivia this
year (with World Concern) visiting villages where the
women have received micro-loans. A great program that
makes a huge difference to the people that have so
little.

We've been having fun riding motorcyles (off-road),
hiking, skiing, and traveling every chance we get.

I am a Technical Writer for a telecommunication
company here is Boulder Colorado. I have 2 grown sons
Chris 27 and Nick 25 who I am very proud of.
This is an exciting year for all of us, as we are
going to be welcoming our first grandchild. All is a
buzz of activity around the event.

What's New?
Well, I had the perfect job,four years as a
programmer/designer for a large corporation, in a
ridiculously easy job, for way too much money, little
supervision, almost no structure,
barely anything at all (sort of like Awalt, only with
full pay). So, naturally, I got laid off, right
before September 11, in the New York Metropolitan
area, where the job market froze.......luckily, I
landed another okay job, pretty good money, somewhat
structured......oh well! The wife is doing well, the
cats are fine.......and I sincerely hope the world has
treated all of my fellow alums well.......

Oh, where does one start? Well, I graduated a year
early and then took the 7 year plan to get through
college. I did enjoy myself. I moved to New Mexico in
1981 and graduated from UNM in 84. I got married the
same weekend and moved to El Paso Tx. Earned more
degrees, I guess I really like school. Moved some
more, had three funny kids, 15, 13 and 12. (loves of
my life) We ended up in Brentwood, CA (not O.J's this
one is near the Delta)I work for Migrant Education as
a Program Manager and LOVE my job. Life is
interesting, never a dull moment.

Well...Retired from Sunnyvale DPS, worked at Bechtel
in S.F. for a few years, then left to move up to
Idaho. I live in Hidden Springs, a small village near
Boise.
I'm single for the first time since high school. My
kids, Keith 26, and Kelly 22, are still in the bay
area. Keith is a physicist, and Kelly is a hair
stylist. I spend my time restoring & racing my vintage
motorcycles, and travelling around to vintage mx
events in the western US.

What's New?
I've been married 23 years to a wonderful man. I am a
teacher and still do teach swimming!!! My kids both
teach swimming in the summer with me!!! We love it!
We have 2 children, one daughter named Casey, who
attend Cal Poly, SLO. We have a son, Chase, who is a
junior in high school. Both of our kids bring us joy
everyday.
I raise Scottish Fold cats and you can see them on my

We horseback ride, hike, mountain bike, and I, (of
course...)teach swimming too!!! Enjoying life in the
foothills...cross country ski in the winter!!!

Back in '77 John Canaras and I, were heavy into
experimenting with different forms of art.John had air
brushes,and his father had a furniture making shop just
above Loyola Corners.["The Shop"]I liked working with
metals,and cutting or carving gems.We wanted a name
that would encompass all our vision, after much thought
we came up with the "Pacific Design Workshop".Later I
opened a retail shop off Bascom.The Shop is in Chico
now, and I'm loving it.I WISH YOU WERE HERE!,it"s a lot
like Mtn. view and Los Altos in the 70"s.I miss every

What's New?
After Awalt, I went to Santa Clara University and got
a BSEE and an MBA. Got married in '89 to Susan, who
was a Nursing Student at San Jose State. We lived in
Campbell for a few years.

In 1991 we moved up to the Seattle area. Here, I own a
small lighting controls company, specializing in
bridges and tunnels, as well as energy saving controls
for commercial buildings. I travel all over the
country, getting our systems started and people
trained. We've done some Bay Area projects, like the
SF Oakland Bay Bridge and the Caldecott Tunnel in
Oakland.

I've got a 14 year old boy, Craig, who is a freshman
in High School. I also have twin 11 year olds,
Katherine and Neil, who are in the 5th grade.

I had a great time at the 30th Reunion, seeing all my
friends from the Awalt band. Music was a lot of fun
for me and I really enjoyed the people I was with. I
kept involved through college in different music
groups.

My Sister, Sandra, is living in Toronto, where she has
been restoring a house and is looking to sell it soon.

What's New?
Since 1977 I have been pretty busy! I went to Nursing
School and graduated from UCSF School of Nursing,
where I am currently an Assistant Professor. I also
work at El Camino Hospital in the Heart and Vascular
Institute. (and I love my job!)

I am married to a great guy; and together we have two
children, Jeff and Ashley. In addition we have added
a Newfoundland dog and a Malti-Poo (talk about
opposite ends of the spectrum, the Newfie is 135 lbs
and the Malti-Poo is 8 lbs! LOL) We also have a short
hair cat. Our Newfounland is truly amazing -- he
swims in our pool almost daily (they are big on water
with their huge webbed feet).

We spend time with our family and friends. I am
working on starting a business...more on that later.
And I love to spend time with my husband, children and
extended family (who fortunately live close!)

What's New?
After graduating from Awalt (graduating and Awalt
should not be in the same sentence) I got in touch
with my inner self. Once I got in touch with my
feelings (90’s thing) I found that I was a woman
trapped in a mans body and had the big surgery. Only
to find out that I could not find any comfortable
shoes so I had the surgery to become a man again. The
rest of the time has been good therapy and a hell of a
lot of scare tissue. In 1992, I moved From Manhattan
beach back to Los Altos and have decided it is my
mom’s turn to move to another city or state (spell
check told me to check verb use in this sentence. Must
call programmer and explain that I went to AWALT! Verb
use my ass!) Married to "hay woman" who is far to good
for me and have two very, very beautiful girls ages 3
and 6 who are the apple of my eye. Life has been great
and it is getting better.

Work at Apex Die Corporation in San Carlos Ca.
I am The customer service manager and handle alot of
large printing companies finishing needs throughout
the US.

(we do finishing of paper products ie.. Foil Stamping,
Embossing, Cartons & Packaging, Limited Edition Sports
Memoralbilia and alot other stuff!)

I still see Steve Johnson, Darryl Costales on a
frequent basis and we like to all play golf together!

I like to play golf and I play every chance I get.

I belong to the Redwood City Elks Lodge and I enjoy
spending time at the lodge, they have a 9 hole golf
course there.

I have had both my hips replaced in the last 4 years
due to having osteo parosis in the hips. One day they
just went.

Thank God for new Technologies. I have state of the
art hips!, No more PAIN!, So away I go!, Not as fast,
but away I go!

I am still the same guy as was in High School, just a
little older. I still try to have a good sense of
humor with everything I do and I still get into
mischief now and then, but nothing too bad, just fun
stuff!

I have seemed to keep the same size as I was in school
but when getting the new hips, I put on a few pounds.
But, in the last year Ive lost about 100lbs and I am
feeling better. Another 50 or 60 & I will be where I
need to be.

Been living on aeroplanes and hotels for much of the
time running my own consulting biz based in Bangkok,
Thailand. Most of my work has been managing new office
construction build-outs all over Asia and Europe as
well as doing finance related audits for US based cos.
with ops in Asia. Also trading the futures markets.

Been living and working in Asia for the last 6+ years.
First in Taiwan for about 3 years, and now Thailand.
Had lots of opportunities to work and spend R&R
in lots of different countries. Loving it.

Life after Awalt has been fun so far, I have managed to stay in the bay
area the whole time (San Jose). I started out with good intentions to get
my college degree in 4 years, but somewhere along the road of life I
got married (27 years this year), moved a couple of times and have 2
children. I finally graduated from San Jose State in Engineering after
many years of night school (let that be a lesson to our kids). My oldest
is in her 3rd year at Santa Clara and my youngest is a junior in high
school.

It should be a lot of fun at the reunion to see people I haven't seen
since high school. It will be more interesting to see how many I still
recognize!

What's New?
Graduated from SDSU in '82 with a degree in Marketing,
worked for Apple Computer for 13 years before moving to the
east coast in late '96 to work for The Timberland Company.
I'm a Senior Project Manager in their Supply Chain
department, lived in Massachusetts until 2000, now residing
in New Hampshire.

Still into Softball, but much more into Volleyball these days.
Leagues and tournaments go year 'round, so it's a great way to
stay active in the winter.

Still visit the Bay Area at least once a year, and stay in touch
with Rich Stephens, Mark Clutter, Doug Dull and several St.
Francis alumni from the area.

My day job was first digital radiography, and now I am
in the Internet business doing Linux for embedded
devices. I happily have a few U.S. patents and
hopefully some more on the way (who would have guessed?).

Music at Awalt lead to the California Berkeley Marching
Band, and then a semi-career doing ethnic music
(American to Hungarian and Klezmer) and dance (American
to Russian), including national and internation tours.

I got married 8 years ago, in a crazy ceremony
(complete with a fire engine).

I look forward to seeing the gang in September,
especially the band and drama folks!

Oldest daughter Kimi is a junior at UCSB, played water polo and is
enjoying life in Isla Vista. Kimi graduated from Sacred Heart Prep.

Youngest daughter Hannah is a freshman basketball player at the
University of Utah. She attended Prep, then transfered and graduated
from Mitty.

As for what I've been up to...Right now I'm a
bookseller for Barnes and Noble, which was supposed
to be a seasonal job but I loved it so much I'm still
there. But since I have a second child starting
college next year, my fantasy will come to an end and
I will go back to being a CPA.

I've been married for 22 years and have 3
children...2 daughters, 19 and 17 and a son, 12 so
lots of sports, boy/girl scouts, field trips, ptsa
meeetings, concerts and...lot's of parent stuff. I
just came back (actually, the day before the reunion)
from chaperoning a trip to Spain, France, and Italy
for our high school. So if I seemed a little goofy,
that's why.

What's New?
Shortly after Awalt I was married long enough to have
two great daughters. I spent many years a single mom
working hard to create a happy home life for them.
When it was time for them to start college I decided
to finally go back to school and get a degree.
Despite whats going on in the world, Life is good! I
thank God everyday for the blessings he has given me.

What's New?
Still live in the Bay Area after all these years
despite the price of real estate and everything else.
Married with 2 boys, ages 8 and 10; both of them will
be in high school before I know it which is a bit
scary because 1977 doesn't seem that long ago. Can't
believe those out there that already have kids in
college! Working in the medical field and dabbling in
other ventures as they come along to avoid monotony.
Snowboard as much as possible in the winter, road and
mountain bike on the other days.

WE MOVED! We now live in Redding on the river. We

What's New?
Guess it's been a while since I checked out this
website! Nice to know what people are doing, where
they live, etc. Nothing's really changed with me since
our last reunion (well, except my hair color and the
strength of the reading glasses I now have to use). I
still live with my boyfriend that I dated my senior
year. (we will be celebrating our 27th wedding anniv.
this year) Our daughter, Maddelyn, got married in Oct.
03; our son, Owen, graduated high school last June, and
both he and our son-in-law are firefighters here in
Grass Valley. Owen is taking classes through the
community college for his certs, and Maddy works at a
bank in town. No grandkids yet, but Maddy's thinking
maybe this year. I'm in NO HURRY to become a
grandmother, but Marc is looking forward to it.
I still teach dog training, still go to the dog shows,
still sleep with the dogs.....
Hope to see you all again in the near future, say,
maybe the summer of '07 at a 30 yr reunion possibly??
