I just came along to this website last night with my best friend Don who was a 1979 graduate......I never knew this existed!!!!! DO ya'll actually log on and read this occasionally? Gee...as for me too much to tell, gonna have to wait for my auto-biography!!! Became a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)after graduation, passed the CA state boards exams.......worked for a wonderful orthodontist who met an untimely death at 50.......wasn't the same after that so I went back to school and fell into the Financial Analyst/Accountant relm........did a couple of start-ups, one that made it and was a nice ride but alot of hard work......... After that worked for a few software companies.....ASK Computers,Sun Microsystems, Hyperion......Netscape.....now that was a great ride!!! The best job I ever had!!!! And it bought me my house in the Rose Garden!!!!! (stock shares of course....) So I have always been a Sales Compensation Mgr........but now I am out of it as I am now Director. Finance for KL Wright Consulting Group up here in Roseville..........getting ready to do another startup though!!! No kids like you all have.....!!! Wasn't in the cards for me........2 divorces......ex-boyfriend played for the 49'ers that I was with for 5 years (has 4 Superbowl rings!) now on my third marriage and seems to be going very well.....8 1/2 years! I've been working in Israel for 2 1/2 years and presently, live in Canada. It's been interesting, but thought I'd get out of Israel before war starts. Tel Aviv is a great city, had lots of fun. I bought a house in Toronto. I am braving going back to school after 17 years! I am studying to be an osteopath (that totals 11 years in school) Here is the update: going back to school for 5 more years proved to be too tough. Although enjoyable, I hate the thought of finishing at retirement age. My son attends UC Santa Barbara, he is just turning 22, mechanical engineer type of guy. My daughter is almost 16, a junior at Los Gatos highschool. Another update: I am in the bay area for a while and my daughter goes to SF state. I think she wants to study something brainiac like biochem. My son is going on to complete his education ( phd) in aerospace engineering. Hey all, it was nice to read what you're all up to. I've been living in Mountain View and Sunnyvale since graduating from California College of Arts with a BFA in graphic design. Since then I've been doing design and art directing at design agencies, Sun Microsystems, a magazine and now self-employed in my home office for the last 10 years. Happily married for 20 years (!), Rob and I have 2 kids and spend most of our free time with family and friends. Adam is 16 and Zoe is 9. The two are amazing athletes, musicians and artists, and lots of fun to be around! So many years have passed by...where to start? The condensed version... I have worked for the past 10 years with Deloitte & Touche as a CPA actively involved in the financial side of merger and acquisition transactions with technology companies in the Silicon Valley. In early 2000, I took a 6 month sabattical to spend more time with family and friends which was wonderful. I returned to Deloitte in a new role as Program Director for our Technology & Communications Group - this role is more on the HR side. This has given me some tremendous insight into how we run our business! I married Mohana Dissanayake in 2000 - Mohana is also a CPA with Deloitte & Touche (two accountants in the family!). Mohana is a native of Sri Lanka so we had a traditional wedding at a resort in Sri Lanka (with me in a sari!) and we held a second wedding at the Chaminade Santa Cruz for our local friends and family. We are living in Mountain View. Mohana and I enjoy traveling to Sri Lanka once a year; each trip we stop in a new city along the way (Singapore, Kuala Lumpar, etc). This year we plan to spend time in Dubai. Nice to see so many of you at the Reunion...my have we grown up! October 2008: Still living in Mountain View a block away from Huff Elementary School. Have 3 children: Ryan is 5 and boy/girl twins Kasey and Audrey are 18 months old. Yep, so many of you have children that will soon be graduating from high school as opposed to me just starting out. Hi everyone. Wow it's been a long time since we walked the halls of old Awalt high school. It was great to read what has been going on with everyone since 1980. Anyway here is a brief update on what has transpired in my life since then. Went to Foothill for two years and then transfered to Sonoma State University and graduated in '84. I then moved to Southern California and tried a couple of different occupations befoe deciding to go back to school and get a teaching credential. In '86 I started teaching P.E. at a public high school and have been there ever since. It is a pretty good gig, I get to go to work in shorts and a t-shirt. I have been happily married since '85 and we have 2 children, Danny is 20 and is a U.S. Marine having served in Iraq and will deploy to Afghanistan in January of 09'. Katie is 15 now a freshmen and a member of the high school marching band and orchestra. I am still an avid SF Giants fan (which is not easy living in So Cal) and catch almost everygame on satellite. It was great to read about everyone. Take care.
