First I should say that I left Awalt after sophomore
year. I transferred to San Domenico School for Girls
in Marin County where I graduated. I then went on to
Santa Clara University, spending my Junior Year at
Loyola in Rome. Upon graduation I moved to Rhode
Island where I became the Assistant Dean of Students at
Rhode Island School of Design. In 1974, I moved to
Manhattan where I lived until 1991. While in New York
I began a career in the theatre, starting with a
position at Theatre Communications Group, the service
organization for nonprofit theater in the U.S. After
that I was the Managing Director of the O'Neill Theater
Center's National Playwrights Conference. In 1981, I
spent a year working for film director, Robert Altman,
when he directed a play on Broadway and on film, titled
"Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy
Dean" After that, I became a producer with a small
television and film production company. I produced
several music videos, as well as many industrial films
for companies like American Express and T.V. Guide.
I would like to add that I had a wonderful time at our
"50th birthday celebration" and was happy to be
included even though I'm not an official graduate. I
would also like to say that Awalt will always hold a
very dear place in my heart as it was where I met my
best friend in life, Danny Cuneo.
Oh, I should also say, that even though I was known as
Martha in school, I now go by Marsue which is a
contraction of my first and middle names (yes, you
guessed it, Martha Susan). But, if it's easier, you
can all call me Martha and I promise I'll answer!
