For recent musings, see my blog (online journal).
I'm originally from sunny Los Altos, California. Today, I live right next door in Palo Alto. Ariella, the love of my life, is working on her PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures.
At Brown University I earned my degree in computer science, and these days I put it to use working for Yahoo! Inc. on our custom webserver and some software management tools. In the past, I worked for Adobe Systems' Advanced Technology Group on a browser plug-in for the Precision Graphics Markup Language (the predecessor to SVG). Before that (as a college intern) I worked for the Program Analysis Group at Microsoft Research.
In my spare time, I hack on the Hebcal Interactive Jewish Calendar, a web interface that generates a list of Jewish holidays and candle lighting times customized to your zip code, city, or latitude/longitude. I even find a little energy to maintain the Mountain View High School Alumni Internet Directory, but I'm not actively developing it any more.
Random personal tidbits: a couple of years ago I took up scuba diving and rock climbing. Every winter, I have brief delusions about becoming a decent snowboarder, but that hasn't happened yet. I'm still on the bunny slopes. I drink my espresso straight. I think I got fascinated with caffeine in college. I'm glad it's a legal drug.
