After getting my European Studies degree from San
Diego State I traveled awhile before coming back to
Mtn. View and worked for USA Cheerleading/49er
Entertainment (no, not as a Gold Rush girl). When I
got married I lived in Redwood City and worked for
Jostens selling cap/gowns & class rings to high
schools on the peninsula inc. Mtn. View. I couldn't
believe how many teachers we had were still there.
Now I'm a single parent to Brad (11/95) and Nicole
(1/00) and full time student trying to change careers.

What's New?
I married Brian Mackin (St. Francis-83) in 1989 and we have
two children, Krista (93) and Kevin (95). I taught in grades 1-
3 for 13 years in the Mountain View School District before
quitting in 2000 to stay home with my children. In 2003 we left the
Bay Area and moved to beautiful El Dorado Hills about 25 minutes
outside Sacramento, on the way to South Lake Tahoe.
My daughter Krista became heavily involved in theater shortly after
our arrival here and I started volunteering with her theater company.
After spending the last 4 years as a "stage mom" I am now working as
a producer for El Dorado Musical Theatre, a youth theater company
founded in 2001 by the late John Healy, the original founder of San
Jose Children's Musical Theatre. If you are ever up in our area...come

My son Kevin loves sports, especially baseball, and Brian loves to
coach, so when I'm not "backstage", we're at one of his games cheering
him on. Brian works from home for Sun Microsystems which gives us
the opportunity to be really involved with our kids and their activities.
It's been great hearing from some of you with the creation of this
website. Good to hear so many are happy and healthy. Take care.

Cooper and Huff Elementary with a lot of you, but my
family moved away in 1977. I graduated MVHS (Monte

What's New?
A lot has happened since 1983. I married my
husband Paul in 1987. After completing my B.A.degree,
my husband and I moved to Stanford where I worked as a
research assistant for the Psychiatry Dept. at
Stanford University Medical School. While living near
the University, I also got involved in a volunteer
program called Bread of Life which provided food and
counseling to the homeless living in East Palo Alto.

After Paul finished his degree program at
Stanford, we moved to Pleasanton, CA to be near his
start-up company. My son Karl (now 13) was born at
this time. I attended SJSU and received my Master's
in Public Health (1996) with a specialization in
Community Health Education and a certificate in
Applied Social Gerontology. Paul and I divorced
several months after the start-up failed and a few
months before I was scheduled to take my comprehensive
exam for my degree. Not a fun time.

Since attending SJSU, I have worked as a manager
and health educator with populations suffering from
HIV, Hepatitis C, substance abuse, and psychiatric
disorders. I also worked for a community collage
administering a grant and developing training programs
in health occupations. I married Rick in 2001, and
moved to Tracy, CA. My youngest son Aaron (now 6) was
born a year later (I wasn't getting any younger).
Some of my favorite hobbies include reading,
gardening, arts/crafts, and fine dining.

What's New?
After high school I attended Foothill for a few months but
eventually ended up getting a BFA from Cal Arts in southern
California. I worked for a bit then got an MFA from the Rhode
Island School of Design. I've been working as a graphic designer
or art director since then and also teaching design at a number of
different universities.
I also lived in Europe a couple times.
Now I am a professor near Baltimore. I miss California.
I'm still in touch with Natalie Glushkoff, Karen Anderson, and
Derek Mutch.

Here's the skinny. After High School, I joined the
Navy. I was stationed in Italy for 4 years and then
Moffett Field for 4 years. Afterward, started my
education and received a BA in Psychology from Santa
Clara University and a MA in Counseling Psychology

What's New?
Um...A lot has happened in 21 years, but some things
stayed the same. I am still married to Joe Barrera '82,
and am still the mother of two; Joseph and Jeanette,
who are both going to be in middle school next year.
I look pretty much the same as in high school only more
wrinkles. You could probably recognize me on the street
if you remembered what I looked like in the first place.
I have an ecclectic lifestyle, but it's fairly mundane
and G rated when you get down to it. No exotic locales,
no famous people, average amounts of money...My current
all consuming passion is Taekwondo, a martial art that
focuses on kicking. When I've had a crappy day, it's
very good to kick things.
I still play bassoon and draw pictures. Because of the
kids, I am a 4-H leader, which is actually more fun
than I though it would be. You meet a lot of nice
people in 4-H.
I am also a licensed guinea pig judge. Really.
I spend a lot of time taking the kids from one activity
to another, plus some of those other things I
mentioned. When I am not doing that, I might be parked
in front of the TV watching anime with the hubby. Joe
is pretty fond of anime.
Even though I had ambitions of being a biologist, I got
out of the science biz after a fairly miserable grad
school experience in Pittsburgh, PA. Sometimes, I
substitute teach grades K-12, but not every day, due to
my weird schedule.
I've lived in Pennsylvania and Washington State, and I
never thought I'd move back to California, but somehow,
I ended up here again, in un-sunny San Bruno. Good
thing I don't mind fog too much.

Ok, more about me, been going around the Napa Valley,
eating and drinking wine, need to know any good
places to get wine. Still driving for the taxi
company, even had someone from the class of 82, 83
and others. I live in downtown Napa, it flooded on
12/31/05, no damage where i live, but around the
downtown area lots of damage, didn't, but was total
bummer, happened on new year eve.

Lets see, after years of working in the silicon
valley,I decided to pursue my dream of working in
films, so imoved to Los Angeles, bought 2 houses (live
in 1 rentthe other) and went to work in the film
industry. It was a rocky start, but now I am loving it.
I am working for the academy award winning Captive
Audience Productions in Burbank, doing behind the
scenes photography and video, as well as still doing
independent work. I am also writing, swing dancing, and
loving life, I still feel 20 (ok except for getting up
in the morning), so that means that couldn’t have been
our 20th reunion I just went to. So Where were YOU??

I just finished directing my firstshort in Los Angeles,
entitled "the Extras" about acouple of film extras who
meet on a film set. TheSeasoned Professional, who has
all the "expert" adviceto bestow upon the Fresh off the
Bus Midwestern kid,
who arrives with wide eyes and lots of dreams.

University of Arizona I spent many years traveling in

It's been great to find this web site and reading all

Ive been happily married almost 20 years to my wife,
Heidi. We have 2 wonderful children Daniel (14) and
Kaitlin (12). I live in the Sacramento area and have
been here 18 years. I have a AAS in electronics. I
have had several jobs utilizing this skill as
electronics took a great down sizing after I graduated
in 2001.

I live in Tx now, where I came from! I am very happily married. I have an 18 yr. old daugh. leaving for Air Force boot camp in May, a 17 yr. old daughter in 11th grade, and 12 yr. old twin boys driving me crazy. I will begin manageing a school cafeteria next fall. I keep surfing these sites looking for my best friend from jr high, Monica Higareda (now Coates). I saw her name on classmates.com, but I'm not a "gold" member (outrageous high price!!!) so I can't e-mail her. If anyone can help me get in touch, I would really appreciate it!! What's New?
Worked in the banking industry for a while. Got my
M.S. in cell and molecular biology from Cal State
Hayward. Worked for a couple of biotech companies, a
biotech software company and then somehow found myself
doing database/programming/web content management work
for a small company that mainly sells test and
measurment equipment (oscilloscopes, etc.) to the
military/government sector for the Navy.

What's New?
Married Rick Henderson (LAHS'83) in August of 1996. We
have 3 boys, Matthew - 4/98, Jason - 8/00 and Logan -
12/02. All 3 of our boys have varying degree's of
Autism with my middle son being the worst. If you
see an add in a magazine for the MIND Institute in
Sacramento that is Jason in the picture. We moved to
Folsom as the services are much better here and I am
now a stay at home mom busier than I have ever been
with all the services the kids need.

Married Jill Shubin (MVHS 1983). Flew jets for the Navy for 8 years,
and then move backed to Los Altos in '97. Jill and I are now living
back in Los Altos. Working in Business Development for Apple.

What's New?
I married Dave Homer in February 1994. We have two
sons, Zachary, who was born in August 1998, and Casey
born in February 2001. We purchased a restaurant
called Pete's Brass Rail & Car Wash in Danville in
February 2005 (no brass rail, no car wash and no
Pete!) - Dave has worked there since 1992. I'm also
still working in the Athletic Department at Cal, my
Alma Mater.

By the way, Karla (Kluzek) Hall is still my best
friend!

What's New?
I went to college for court reporting as planned and I
worked for the County of Santa Clara. I got married
in 1990 to Mike and we have a wonderful boy named
Michael age 12 and a beautiful girl named Jordyn age
11. They both excel in sports like their dad. I
stay home with the kids and our dog and other pets.
Sorry to have missed the last reunion.

What's New?
Married in 2000, have a 3 1/2 year old boy and an
Aussie shepherd. Went to Foothill and SJSU to
complete the "education process". Have worked for HP
and Agilent Technologies in the last 2 decades (that
sounds like a long time) in various Product Management
and Management positions. Currently managing the
Agilent opto business for the Americas. Travelling a
lot, surfing a lot - and the best part - enjoying the
family a lot. In 2001, we moved from SJ to Morro Bay
to live by the beach. Last year, we moved back to the
Valley (Gilroy). Needed less fog, more sun, and be
closer to family and friends.

Actually graduated from LAHS in '83, but attended the
old MVHS for two years.

I went to Cal for ungrad and NYU for grad. Lived in
NYC for 10 years before settling in gorgeous Western
Mass.

I am newly single, and love it!

I'm an artist who makes my living as administrator at
Smith College.

Happily married to Alice since 1994. We have two great
kids, big sister Kelly (born 8/97) and baby brother
Chris (born 5/00). Work in San Francisco in the
financial services industry. Life's pretty busy but
