Hi! I recently left CA & the Bay Area rat race for eastern TX. I've traded my 2 hour (one way) commute for a 5-10 minute commute & I love it! I am still a consultant for my old job in the bio tech industry & am currently working PT at a veterinary clinic (have gone back to my roots!). I'm adjusting to living in the boondocks with humidity & small town people who are very friendly & who don't rush anything. Our boys are now 18, 16, 16, & 10. As usual for me, I still have 4 legged animals with the current count being 1 wild beagle, 1 rescued golden retriever, 1 "lost" treeing walker coonhound (she came with the TX house!), a tank full of guppies & goldfish & 2 cats. My mother got married and we located to Cupertino. (not a great plan for me) When I was 17 years old I had my son Peter whose going to be 29 years old Oct.2007. In 1981, I went on a Christain Ship with a group called Youth with a Mission. Through this organization I lived and worked on a ship called the M/V Anastasis for 3 years as we travelled all over the South Pacific including New Zealand. You know where the movie "Lord of the Rings" was made? These times in my life are among the most memorible for me. Meeting all kinds of people from the rich and powerful to the most humble giving people you would ever want to meet. I got married in 1985 and stayed married for the next 20 years. (1985-2005.)I'm blessed to have very talented children in the music and theatical feilds of study. Now, I'm working in the Banking/Mortgage feild for several years. My hobbies include going to see local bands play. Hello all! Life has had its ups and downs. After 9 years in the Navy right out of high school I worked as an aircraft mechanic. Got out of that and went back to college at age 34. Landed a job in Santa Barbara where I have been for 10yrs. Finished my MBA and have a good job. Never been married (close twice) and still no kids. I missed something many of you have...big regret.
