A lot has happened since 1983. I married my husband Paul in 1987. After completing my B.A.degree, my husband and I moved to Stanford where I worked as a research assistant for the Psychiatry Dept. at Stanford University Medical School. While living near the University, I also got involved in a volunteer program called Bread of Life which provided food and counseling to the homeless living in East Palo Alto. After Paul finished his degree program at Stanford, we moved to Pleasanton, CA to be near his start-up company. My son Karl (now 13) was born at this time. I attended SJSU and received my Master's in Public Health (1996) with a specialization in Community Health Education and a certificate in Applied Social Gerontology. Paul and I divorced several months after the start-up failed and a few months before I was scheduled to take my comprehensive exam for my degree. Not a fun time. Since attending SJSU, I have worked as a manager and health educator with populations suffering from HIV, Hepatitis C, substance abuse, and psychiatric disorders. I also worked for a community collage administering a grant and developing training programs in health occupations. I married Rick in 2001, and moved to Tracy, CA. My youngest son Aaron (now 6) was born a year later (I wasn't getting any younger).
