I brought Mia home from Ethiopia in April. She is the
happiest, funniest, smartest little girl EVER! (except
for your little girl, of course) Check her out on my
blog site.

My house is on the market, and I will be moving up to
the Santa Cruz area once it sells. It could be awhile,
but I look forward to moving closer to Michelle and
other bay area friends.

It would be great to plan an informal reunion. Maybe a
Cuesta Park picnic? Let me know if you are interested.

What's New?: Upon graduation from Cal Poly SLO, I entered
headfirst into the corporate world, working mostly as
a software engineer. After a few years of making a
very comfortable living, but always wanting to bust
into the top ranks, I decided to pursue a life of
crime.

I took my considerable savings (much of it from stock
options) and opened a loan sharking business.
Business is doing extremely well, thanks to the fact
that there are many desperate people emerging during
this economic downturn.

Unfortunately, there is a dark side to this business,
and that is when some people don't wish to pay you
back. This unpleasantness forces me to retain the
services of a small team of professional hitmen
to "encourage" people to pay. This almost always
works well. You'd be surprised how a broken leg will
convince someone that you are serious.

Anyway, I see some names in the alumni list from my
old gang (hi y'all!) and a lot of names I don't
remember anymore. Take care and I've love to hear

Specialist and he does contract work for the EPA. We
just had our first child, Baby Michael, born April
16. I am really excited to finally be a mom. Life is

What's New?: I finished a two-year program at Kyushu University in
spring 2004, and received a M.S. in Informatics (maybe
you thought it was _translation_ that made VCR manuals
hard to read. guess again). I'm now working in Tokyo

What's New?: I have moved back to the Bay Area after 12 years in
Estonia. I wrote a book (check out the web page) and
became famous in Estonia (which is kind of like being
famous in high school). Recently got married to an
irresistable geek. Enjoy things like doing latch-
hook rugs from the 70s that I buy on Ebay and will
turn into a crazy cat lady by the age of 60. If I

What's New?: After 7 years teaching elementary school, I will be
taking the year off to be a stay at home mommy.
(Whodathunk!) Our son, Fisher, was born October 19,
2006. He's an absolute joy! I'm also going back to
school part time taking online classes through the
University of Florida to get my reading
endorsement. My husband and his friends are so
pleased that I am now finally one of them - a Gator.

What's New?: Well, I graduated from college after they threatened to
throw me out for having too many credits. I ended up
with two BS degrees from the U of Washington. I spent
a few months at Amazon.com playing at being a sysadmin
but it wasn't for me. From there I moved to the field
of genetics which worked much better, especially
because I became somewhat of an expert at tweaking all
the UNIX bioinformatics tools. About six years ago I
asked my stepfather to legally adopt me, which he did.
That's when my last name changed to Kurihara. A
little over two years ago I met a wonderful man, within
a few months we were sure about each other. We moved
in together, got engaged, and in July of last year we
were married. I didn't want to give up my dad's name so
I just took my husbands and added it on to the end.
Complex but I wanted to honor my father. In truth
though,I've never been happier.

What's New?: You just never know what life will bring you!!!! We
lost everything in a house fire in Jan '07. A few
months later I got pregnant with twins (not
planned). Katherine April and Anne Lauren (Katie &
Annie)were born in November. Twins are interesting:-)
Life is never dull. We finally got rebuilt on our
property and are still trying to replace things and
settle in. Ava Rose will be three in August. I work
from home and love being home with the munchkins.
They really are a blessing.

still playing bassoon, still living in LA. I just got back from
playing with Dakah, a 60 piece hip hop orchestra, at the New

What's New?: Graduated UCSD in 1994 and Duke policy school in
2000. Lived in San Diego, Japan, North Carolina,
Boston, and now Seattle (I'm never moving again).
Married Chris Strausz-Clark in 2001 (finally unloaded
Shluker), work for the City of Redmond, and had a
baby girl (Kathlyn, aka Katie)last year. Must take a

Shluker), who is now a fabulously talented

What's New?: After high school I worked as a vet tech to earn
money to travel to Brazil for a month. While there we
found a new species of shrimp and studied ways to help
with the bufo, (frog) problem in Australia. There I
sat in a sea kayak, in the middle of the jungle, at
night catching young saltwater crocs with my bare
hands. Was that really me? Needless to say when I came
back to the states I was a different person.
I fell in love soon after and finally married on
April 22, 1995. We have a son named Quinn and are
quite
happy. Before we wed, my husband wanted to become a
Navy Seal and was just about on his way there when I
told him I wouldn't marry him if he did because Seals
don't make good husbands or fathers. We compromised
and he went into the Coast Guard instead. Little did I
know just how dangerous THAT would be!
Our first station was in St. Igance Michigan. Our
cabin was converted into a cottege and was situated
right on the shores of Lake Huron where we had a
perfect view of Mackinaw Island and all the lightning
storms, even a tornado funnel. My husband went into
aviation for the Coast Guard and we were transferred
to Kodiak Island, Alaska for three years. And there my
heart will forever stay. It is such a rugged and
beautiful place I will always long to go back. You
learn a little bit about yourself when you have to
take
along your 30.30 rifle when hiking or fishing in case
you run into a Kodiak bear. Which you will do, and
often.
Since we were unable to homestead my husband got out
of the Coast Guard to enter medical school. I work for
Pepsi under the president of one of the bottlers and
do anything from collect past due accounts to running
the many reports for our national accounts. After my
husband gets out of medical school we are going to buy
our first house and hopefully enlarge our family.
I would sincerly enjoy hearing from everyone and I

Update*
We are now living in Olympia, WA with a daughter
Ellie, who just turned 3 Jan 11th. Still not working
due to a serious back injury and surgery but at least
I can walk now!
