I married Martin Payne, a 1968 graduate of St.
Francis High School in 1972.
As a military wife, I have been lucky to have lived
in many places; Georgia, Lousiana, Northern Virginia,
and Sacramento and Marysville, California -- but the
most interesting assignment was a tour of duty in
Japan which included both rural Misawa and
metropolitian Tokyo, where I taught English to
Japanese businessmen.
We retired about five years ago in Colorado Springs,
Colorado where I am currently working at Pine Creek
High School as a College/Career Counseling
Administrative Assistant. (I am STILL an Eagle, as
that is my school's mascot!) I am responsible for
pushing our Seniors out of the nest and helping them
secure scholarships to pay for college.
I have two children, Allison and Michael. Allison is
a third year medical student at the University of
Rochester in New York and Michael is graduating this
year from the University of Kansas in Business
Administration and Leadership Studies. He will be
attending the University of Vermont to receive a
degree in Higher Education.
