After graduating from MVHS I bounced around. First backpacking
through Europe for the summer and then to UC Santa Cruz for two
years. Dropped out and went skiing in Montana (Big Sky ski resort) for
a year. Back to Santa Cruz to finish my BA in Economics and then
moved to Hawaii (Honolulu) for three years for no good reason except
to avoid doing anything responsible. Gave up being a slacker and
moved to Boston for two years for grad school in urban planning at
MIT. Finally came to rest in the Los Angeles area where I have worked
as a city planner for several communities (Inglewood, Long Beach and
Lawndale). Along the way I married another UC Santa Cruz grad
(Michele) , we live in Manhattan Beach and I have two little girls (they
will always be little girls to me) ages 12 and 14.
