Updated 15-Mar-2010. I'm happily married with 5 grown children and 11 grandchildren. We've lived all over the country (Coast Guard transfers), and finished up my husband's military career in Sebastopol, CA, where I worked at Santa Rosa Community Hospital. We're now settled on 2 acres in Hood River, Oregon, and have spent the last 3 years building our own log home. My husband and I quit our jobs in CA and spent a year as missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints before moving to Oregon. My husband is now working as a denture technician and I spend my time babysitting grandchildren, growing as much food as I can, running the Family History Center, and helping people trace their family trees.

Updated 14-Mar-2010. After graduation I joined the U.S. Air Force. I went to Bitburg Germany as an aircraft mechanic, Then I was sent to Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War, working on F- 15 Fighter jets. I finished out my enlistment at Nellis AFB In Las Vegas Nevada. After I got out, I moved to L.A. and I worked various jobs, Toy store mngr., warehouse shipping mngr. etc. About 4 years ago I got a job offer out in Missouri, working as a helicopter electrician for the Missouri National Guard. The pay was really great, but it just wasn't fufulling enough for me. So I took a huge gamble, quit my job and went back to school full time. It has been a tough adjustment, not used to being broke all the time. But I think it will be well worth it. I'm pursuing a degree in education. I have always wanted to teach. I learned that money isn't all that a person needs to be happy. I have a girlfriend that lives with me, and no kids.I am curious to know what ever happened to Roland Brown,Derrick Wells,Anna Shaw,Annette Carroll,Mr.Riddell,Mr.Sesich, Mr.Bissell , Coach Wells etc. Drop me a line. Anyway, my hobbies are, reggae music, computer gaming, fishing, nightclubs, live bands, etc. I really miss you guys, I had a great time, with you all. Later, Joel.

Updated 12-Mar-2010. Well, I graduated from college after they threatened to throw me out for having too many credits. I ended up with two BS degrees from the U of Washington. I spent a few months at Amazon.com playing at being a sysadmin but it wasn't for me. From there I moved to the field of genetics which worked much better, especially because I became somewhat of an expert at tweaking all the UNIX bioinformatics tools. About six years ago I asked my stepfather to legally adopt me, which he did. That's when my last name changed to Kurihara. A little over two years ago I met a wonderful man, within a few months we were sure about each other. We moved in together, got engaged, and in July of last year we were married. I didn't want to give up my dad's name so I just took my husbands and added it on to the end. Complex but I wanted to honor my father. In truth though,I've never been happier.

Updated 11-Mar-2010. Well, I'm still in San Diego and flying helicopters for the Navy. I'm currently a Department Head at a carrier based squadron, HELSEACOMBATRON 8. I joined the Navy because I wasn't ready to grow up and get a real job after finishing college and I didn't want to continue with higher education. I quickly found out that being a pilot qualified as a real job and my lofty goal of avoiding further education was futile. I ended up enduring 2 years of flight school, 6 years of advanced tactics, systems, and procedural training, a masters degree, Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1 and getting qualified to drive a warship as Officer of the Deck. I have a feeling I got duped by the recruiter. At least flying is fun so I'm still doing it 12 years later and I ended up with a career. Who knew? I married my wife, Ashlee, in 2002 and we have three great and wild boys - Maxwell (4.5), Wyatt (3) and Travis (1.5). They keep us on the move and run ragged but parenthood is awesome. We'll be in San Diego until 2012 and then who knows where the Navy will send us. We're hoping to move to Europe for a few years so the boys can experience living abroad but we'll just have to wait and see what jobs are available. That's all from me so I hope all is well with everyone and take care.

Updated 8-Mar-2010. It's about time I updated this site. That last silly entry was made after partying a bit a Dori's gorgeous house near West Hollywood. So, yes, Dori, Tiffers and I still have a lot of fun -- though I don't know why Dori said in her entry that she might see me too much??? Maybe I ought to get out of her pool when she goes to sleep at night -- just kidding. Besides hanging out, I work at JPL as a science writer in the media office. I write about astronomy for the public, on topics ranging from comets to faraway galaxies. It's a lot of fun. I also roller skate and do karaoke, and recently completed a drawing class. My boy friend is a really funny guy named Mike Romo. He has a job at a computer company, but his true passion is acting. He has done several funny commercials, and has even done a public service piece with Jessica Biel! Hope to see you all at the next reunion. -Whitney

Updated 16-Feb-2010. Life has changed just a bit in the last few years. Graduated from UCSD, then medical school, got married, and moved to Florida and started my residency in obstetrics and gynecology. . . I am now in my second year and making plans for a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Unfortunately my marriage did not survive the trials and tribulations of intern year. Better sooner rather than later I suppose. Guess it is true that "life is what happens while you are making other plans . . . "
