Updated 12-Oct-2008. After bad economic conditions coalesced in March at the Contra Costa Times, where my husband and I were both reporters, we accepted voluntary buyouts from our jobs in what became the first of three rounds of layoffs. We road-tripped across the country, took several backpacking trips (including to Mt. Whitney!) and caught up with family and friends. The time allowed us to gather our thoughts and turn our lives in a new direction -- toward Colorado. My husband is now an editor at the Boulder Daily Camera, and I am seeking an editing or communications job in the Denver metro area. We plan to stay here a while, given the outdoor opportunities and how far money goes. My advice to anyone weighing whether to take a buyout: Remember that the first offer is always the best.

Updated 11-Oct-2008. Hi. After graduating a year early, sorry 1974, didn't mean to leave so soon. I went to Foothill for 2 years, then joined the league of hard working souls. Worked in accounting and marketing departments EVERYWHERE (including Sun Micro, HP, ROLM and IBM, etc.) Married for 24.5 years, and quit that job. Got two of the greatest kids in the world (21 and 18, both beautiful girls) and the opportunity to own my own home out of it. I am currently running Los Gatos Bookkeeping, (if you know of anyone who needs a good bookkeeper... losgatosbookkeeping@msn.com) (sorry, I couldn't help myself!)). I am really (read REALLY) happy now and satisfied with where I am in life. Would love to hear from any of the class of '74 or '73. I want to hear about any reunions comming up in the next 10 years! I have been out of touch for so long, and want to get back on whatever list I need to be on to be notified of any picnics, parties, etc. I understand there is a yearly 'all years' picnic at Cuesta the first Saturday in October. I made it last year, but by the time I got there after work, 6:30pm, no one from our class was still there. Hope to see some of you this year, I plan to try to make it earlier :-). I'll be the one with the grey hair, wrinkles and big smile!!!

Updated 10-Oct-2008. So I'm a year too late......just started searching around for alumni & came across this site. Sorry to have missed out on the 20th-will make the 25th for sure. I've been in Los Angeles since 1989 and married my high school boyfriend, Rob Broadwell (MV Class of 1986). We adopted a beautiful 8 year old boy from Sacramento in 2005. He is a great kid and parenting him has been amazing! I work in banking (yikes!)and Rob works for a video game company. I'm so glad to hear that everyone is doing so well.
Updated 9-Oct-2008. After Junior Year, we transferred to Meridian, MS where I graduated. I then moved out and home to Pensacola, FL. Met someone and moved to Boston, MA. That didn't work out, but I stayed here and met my a man that I married and had 2 wonderful boys, Montana (14) and Garrett(13) with. The marriage didn't last but my boys are my heart!
