Macintosh Software: Mellel

This is a great piece of software which allows me to do in seconds what would take days in (another piece of software created in Redmond, WA). The learning curve is very slow, but I keep discovering more things I like about this piece of software. The software team is incredibly responsive and this gem of software would be a bargain at twice the price.

Macintosh Software: Bookends

No academic should be without bibliographic software. Bookends is my third instantiation-- I started with Microsoft Excel, moved on to EndNote and now am working with Bookends. In my opinion, EndNote is more comprehensive and I cherish the ability to search the UCLA library catalogue from within, but the Mellel-Bookends handling of citations within a document cannot be beat!
