Does anyone know if there are any Hebrew-English dictionaries available that aren't encumbered by copyright restrictions? Ideally I'd like to find something in electronic form, but I'll take a print dictionary if that's all that's available.

There seems to me to be a serious lack of good online Hebrew language resources. I guess the fact that only a few million people really speak the language might have something to do with it.

Please publish any interesting resources you find.

p.s. I put this in the wrong place originally.

Hi there
I am a Malaysian christian, single male - 39, from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
I have just completed a beginners level short course in Hebrew conducted by a private tutor here since there are no Hebrew courses conducted in Malaysia. I wish to continue studying Hebrew and I am looking for likeminded Hebrew brothers and sisters who like to help me. I am also seeking for a Hebrew dictionary. It's pretty expensive to purchase one, hence I am hoping if anyone would be able give a copy for free.

I hope to hear from someone.
God Bless & Shalom

I have been searching for many months for a hebrew/english dictionary and cannot find one online. I did find one, however, at a local Synagogue. So if you're in need of one, I would suggest asking if you may borrow one from a local Synagogue.

Hi everybody.
As I see this amount of demands with only a few incompletes answers, I will help by creating an email account especially for this purpose, with a few rules.
1*/ do not add any attached file to your email. If an email contain attached file, the entire email will be deleted, and will not be read.
2*/ so I’ll be able to answer a maximum of questions, please,
A. no text will be translated, 3 sentences maximum (about 200 characters).
B. I'll be glade to speak more with you, but in the email, put only words to be translated. No "hello”,” please", or "thanks". You can insert in the subject line your comments.
3*/ supported languages are:
(From-to and to-from)
Hebrew, Russian, French, English. I'll check for possible Arabic support with some friends.
Precise in the subject line of the email the language in which you need the translation to be done, and the type of character (Hebraic, Latin or Russian).
4*/ to simplify the task, I’ll create 2 emails, one for translations needing Russian knowledge and one for the others. In case I find some one who accepts to handle Arabic translations, I’ll create a new email for those one.
For Russian: ru_tr@hotmail.com
For others: all_tr@hotmail.com

Goodbye.

1. "enenu" mean in hebrew
"we are not" or "we do not"

2. "ani ohevet otkha kmo shamain." mean
"I love you like the sky."
assuming it is in fact:
"ani ohevet otha kmo shamaim."

Posted by astro at March 21, 2004 07:06 PM

from now, I will not check post, but you can ask small translation by emailing to me. (see 2 posts above)
